Numbers 11:25 – Moses’ Unreliable Helpers

Moses had given up, so God allowed him to recruit seventy helpers who proved to be unreliable Num 11:24-25.

To see the outcome, click on link at bottom of this page*. About fourteen hundred years later the ‘seventy helpers’ pattern had continued as the ‘Sanhedrin’, the very men who called for Jesus’ death.

Seventy Unreliable Helpers

Sev’nty elders to help Mo’ along.
addressed problems but often were wrong.
Though God granted request,
Is’rel lived in unrest.
Prophesying, yet sang a weak song.

“When the Spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, but did not do so again”, means the Israelites did not stop their complaining. Today we need to come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace in time of need Hebrews 4:16.
